How to perform the first test flight of an RC aircraft

The test flight starts on the ground
Before the first flight, check CG, control direction, control throws, propeller, battery retention, range and failsafe. Use low rates unless the manual recommends otherwise.
Choose calm weather, enough runway or open space and a pilot who is comfortable trimming a new model. A helper is valuable for launch, spotting and calling time.
Take off with a simple plan
The first goal is not aerobatics. Take off smoothly, climb to a safe altitude, reduce power if needed and make gentle trim corrections.
Keep the model close enough to see attitude clearly but high enough to recover from small mistakes. Avoid low slow turns while trimming.
Land early and inspect
